Gearing up for CodeMash 2011

As we head into December, past Thanksgiving and looking towards the rest of the holiday season (and the 5-10 extra pounds I’ll be carrying into January), I hope you might be one of the lucky ones who gets to extend the holiday season by a few extra weeks by attending Code Mash in Sandusy, OH this January (see details at http://codemash.org).

Perficient has been a sponsor of this event from the very start and as a result I’ve had the luck and privilege to attend each one of them. Each year the conference gets better and better. A very special thanks goes out to the dedicate team that puts this conference on each year, I know there are a TON of hours involved in organizing it and working the logistics, etc.  These folks are not paid professional organizers, but fellow techies that wanted to produce something better.   It’s been great watching how the team got together years ago, decided there were no good technical conferences in the Midwest and  instead of complaining about it, got busy…

They have since created one of the best conferences that you’ll ever attend if you are at all technically oriented. Year after year, the presentations and sessions get better, the conference grows and grows, and the attendance blooms. This year the conference sold out in 3.5 days (and that is over a weekend)!

I am hugely looking forward to CodeMash 2011 and seeing what the team was able to produce yet again this year.  If you haven’t heard of CodeMash, I’m sorry to say, you cannot attend this year but keep an eye out for 2012. If you were able to score a registration, congrats, and I’ll see you there as I extend my holiday season out just a little bit longer…

Oh and BTW,  Perficient and Microsoft are working an extra special contest this year for attendees to detail out your best Cloud implementation. You can find details at  http://www.perficient.com/codemash (or read more about it here: http://blogs.perficient.com/microsoft/2010/11/announcing-clouddevcomp-with-over-1000-worth-of-prizes/
